General
Is the measure and quote really free?
Yes. We visit your site, take measurements and give you a fixed written quote at no cost and with no obligation.
What areas of Sydney do you cover?
We work across all of Sydney, including the Eastern Suburbs, North Shore, Northern Beaches, Inner West, Western and South West Sydney, the Hills District and the Sutherland Shire. Our workshop is in Moorebank.
Can I send plans or photos for a quote?
Yes. Upload plans, drawings or photos with the quote form. For many jobs we can give a guide price from photos, then confirm with a site measure.

Aquaglass has worked in the Sydney glass industry since 1994, which is more than 30 years.
Glass Balustrades
About glass balustradesHow much does a glass balustrade cost in Sydney?
Price depends on the length of the run, glass thickness, fixing method (spigots, channel or posts) and handrail choice. Frameless channel systems cost more than semi-frameless post systems. We give a free measure and a fixed written quote, so you know the full cost before work starts.
When does a balcony or stair need a balustrade?
Under the National Construction Code, a balustrade is generally required where a floor, balcony, deck or stair is more than 1 metre above the surface below. The balustrade must be at least 1 metre high on floors and balconies (865 mm above stair nosings), and openings must not let a 125 mm sphere pass through. We design every balustrade to meet these rules.
What is the difference between frameless and semi-frameless balustrades?
Frameless balustrades have no posts. Thick toughened glass is held by spigots, pins or a channel at the base. Semi-frameless balustrades use thinner glass between slim posts, usually with a top rail. Frameless gives a cleaner look; semi-frameless is usually more affordable.
Do glass balustrades need a handrail?
Not always. Some frameless systems use glass that is strong enough without a top rail, but stairs need a handrail for safe use. We tell you at the measure which option suits your space and the relevant standard.
Can you install balustrades for builders and developers?
Yes. We supply and install balustrades for apartments, townhouses, aged care, schools and commercial projects, with site measures, shop drawings and compliance documentation.
Pool Fencing
About pool fencingWhat are the pool fence rules in NSW?
In NSW, pool barriers must comply with the Swimming Pools Act 1992 and AS 1926.1. Key requirements include a minimum fence height of 1200 mm, gaps under the fence of no more than 100 mm, a 900 mm non-climbable zone, and gates that are self-closing, self-latching and open away from the pool. Your local council or a certifier can confirm the rules that apply to your property.
How much does glass pool fencing cost?
Cost depends on the length of fence, frameless or semi-frameless style, number of gates, and the surface it is fixed to (concrete, pavers, timber or tiles). We give a free measure and fixed written quote with no hidden extras.
Is frameless glass pool fencing safe?
Yes. We use toughened safety glass designed for pool barriers and fix it with marine-grade hardware. Toughened glass is several times stronger than standard glass and breaks into small, blunt pieces if it ever fails.
Will my pool fence pass a compliance inspection?
We design and install pool fencing to AS 1926.1 and the NSW requirements. If you are selling or leasing and need a compliance certificate, we can fix issues found by your inspector.
How do I keep a glass pool fence clean?
Rinse with fresh water regularly to remove salt and chlorine, and clean with a soft cloth and glass cleaner. Wipe the stainless hardware to prevent tea staining, especially near the coast.
Shower Screens
About shower screensHow much does a frameless shower screen cost?
Price depends on the size and number of panels, glass type (clear, low-iron or frosted), and hardware finish. A single fixed panel costs less than a corner screen with a hinged door. We measure for free and give a fixed written quote.
When should a shower screen be measured?
We measure after the tiles are finished, so the screen fits the final walls and floor exactly. Builders can book us once tiling is complete.
What thickness glass is best for a frameless shower screen?
We recommend 10 mm toughened safety glass for frameless screens. It is strong, feels solid and stays rigid without a frame.
What is low-iron glass?
Low-iron glass removes the green tint of standard glass, so the screen looks clearer and your tiles show their true colour.
How do I stop my shower screen from looking cloudy?
Squeegee the glass after each shower and clean weekly with a mild cleaner. An optional protective coating makes water bead off and reduces soap build-up.
Mirrors
About mirrorsHow much does a custom mirror cost?
Price depends on size, mirror type, edge finish and how it is fixed. Large gym mirror walls are priced per panel. We give a free measure and a fixed written quote.
What is a safety mirror?
A safety mirror has a vinyl backing that holds the pieces together if the mirror breaks. It is required in some locations, such as wardrobe doors, and is recommended for gyms and studios.
Can you cut mirrors around power points and tiles?
Yes. We measure on site and cut the mirror to fit around power points, tiles, cabinetry and other fittings.
Do you install gym mirrors?
Yes. We install mirror walls for home gyms, commercial fitness centres and dance studios, usually as several large panels with safety backing.
Kitchen Splashbacks
About kitchen splashbacksHow much does a glass splashback cost?
Price depends on the size, number of panels, glass type and the number of cut-outs for power points and windows. We give a free measure and fixed quote.
Can a glass splashback go behind a cooktop?
Yes. Toughened glass is made to handle heat, which is why we use it for splashbacks. For gas cooktops, we check the required clearances before installation.
When should a splashback be measured?
After your cabinets and benchtops are installed and the walls are finished. We then measure on site so the glass fits exactly.
Why choose low-iron glass for a splashback?
Standard glass has a green tint that changes how colours look. Low-iron glass is clearer, so whites, greys and pastel colours look true.

About commercial glassDo you work with builders and developers?
Yes. Much of our work is for builders and developers on apartments, townhouses, aged care, schools and commercial projects. We provide site measures, shop drawings, compliance documentation and coordinated installation.

Do you do office glass partitions?
Yes. We supply and install frameless and framed glass partitions, glass doors and meeting rooms for office fit-outs.
How do I get a commercial quote?
Send us your plans or drawings through the quote form, or call us. We review the drawings and reply with a quote or questions.
Architectural Metalwork
About architectural metalworkCan you make a handrail to match my glass balustrade?
Yes. We design handrails and glass together so the finish, fixings and heights work as one system.
What metal is best near the coast?
For coastal homes we recommend 316 marine-grade stainless steel or powder-coated aluminium, which resist corrosion from salt air.
Do you make custom gates and privacy screens?
Yes. We make gates, fencing and privacy screens to measure, in a range of styles and powder-coat colours.
